Youth Parliament 2.0 Stakeholders and Responsibilities
District Planning Coordinating Office
Leads the implementation of all activities under SOCO project subcomponent 1.3, including the Youth Parliament 2.0 concept. The unit will work with the municipal or district coordinating director, NYA district directors, the municipal or district planner, social welfare and community development officers, and the SOCO project to carry out Youth Parliament activities.
Municipal or District Coordinating Director
Provides overall leadership for the preparation and inauguration of the Youth Parliament. Reviews the budget submitted for all activities related to the program. Leads engagement activities with other agencies, organizations, and individuals, as needed. Transmits/forwards communiqués from the Youth Parliament Sittings to the district assembly’s executive committee for consideration.
NYA District Directors
Carry out Youth Parliament activities in their respective districts. Administrative responsibilities include identifying prospective youth groups for registration and ensuring that existing and new groups are registered with the NYA. Sensitize district youth groups about Youth Parliament 2.0 by performing the following consequential roles:
Pre-Inauguration
Inauguration of a Parliamentary Sitting
Municipal/District Planner and Social Welfare and Community Development Officers
Provide general administrative support to the NYA District director and perform other tasks or roles as assigned by the coordinating director
SOCO Project
Facilitates the implementation of the Youth Parliament 2.0 concept in partnership with the NYA. The SOCO project will develop a relevant toolkit and a digital app for ease of documentation and monitoring; lead a capacity-building workshop; and document success stories and lessons learned to assist district assemblies with the integration of progressive youth development perspectives into the planning and implementation of local development projects
